Genomics tools and technology for environmental monitoring bring benefits to the environment and industry. Environmental DNA (or eDNA) technologies are giving us powerful insights into ecosystems and the diversity of life in them. With more comprehensive, accurate information and lower-cost solutions, we can leverage new knowledge to tackle climate change, better manage for conservation objectives, improve reclamation and discover sustainable management practices.

Genome Alberta offers a range of funding opportunities including support for genomics research in the environment and energy sectors.
