It is a familiar story. Young men and women become interested in science and technology and venture onto their career paths at the same rate. However women start to drop out of the workforce at a faster rate. Women in BIO is a U.S based organization (but with a chapter in Montreal) committed to changing that statistic and they are having some good success in pursuit of that change.
Rachel Kopper is National President of Women in BIO, Lisa Iadicicco is the organization Executive Director, and Jessica Bosc is President Elect of Women in BIO. I talked with them on Monday afternoon before the annual BIO International Convention kicked into high gear.
