A new pan-Canadian biotech venture unveiled

CDRD: A B.C. venture with the goal of building collaborations with academia, industry, patient foundations, the investment community, and other key leaders.
NEOMED: A Montreal-based institute which has been creating and leading a network of small and medium enterprises to bridge the gap between academic innovation and industry needs.
adMare:  A new Canadian venture focused on building a national life sciences industry by taking advantage of Canadian strong research reputation and capabilities.

This equation went from the chalkboard to the stage today at the Canadian BIO Pavilion in Philadelphia.
Linking two well known and successful organization separated by the Prairies and Ontario, adMare BioInnovations hopes to show that the sum of the parts will be able to help academic research hit the commercial stage, attract and nurture more highly qualified talent, and help existing companies scale-up their operations.

Gordon McCauley is President and CEO of adMare and I talked with him after the announcement which came complete with champagne and cookies to celebrate the occasion.
