Metagenomics for Greener Production and Extraction of Hydrocarbon Energy: Creating Opportunities for Enhanced Recovery with Reduced Environmental Impact

In simplest terms this project will isolate, sequence, and interpret the DNA present in hydrocarbon deposits. With this information in hand the project will look for ways to harness the microbial populations to reduce the cost of production, make better use of water resources, and help develop a more sustainable energy industry.
