There is a new 100K Genome Project on the block. This one is in Newfoundland & Labrador. Sequence Bio
is leading the large-scale initiative to collect whole genome sequences from 100,000 volunteers over the next few years. The project will take advantage of a strong 'founder population' in the region to ensure a good data set.
The company already has several partners in the precision medicine effort including Genome Atlantic and Memorial University, and one of Sequence Bio's objectives here at BIO in San Francisco is to add more partners and funding to the list.
They had a fairly hectic schedule this week but Jeremy Gruschcow and Chris Gardnder found time to talk about the Newfoundland 100K project
