Recently I attended celebrations of the Heritage Youth Researcher Summer (HYRS) program at the University of Calgary. This summer, 22 exceptional students with mentors from 5 university faculties were involved in cutting-edge research. I interviewed several students about their projects and the benefits of participating in the HYRS program.

Britney’s work on Hypertension is already posted on the website of the World Hypertension League Organization. Aaron Howe and Mehul Gupta are recipients of the Genome Alberta Award at previous regional science fairs.
