Career Opportunity: Genome BC requires a Research Program Manager

CAREER OPPORTUNITY - GENOME BRITISH COLUMBIA

Reporting to the Director, Research Programs, Research Program Managers are the main points of contact at Genome BC for funded project teams and are responsible for monitoring projects to assess progress and maximize outcomes.

The successful candidate should possess the following Education and Experience:

  • PhD in life sciences or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Excellent proactive communication, relationship management, team-building and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills and careful record keeping practices, preferably in a science or technology environment
  • Demonstrated skills in financial analysis
  • Demonstrated experience with milestone-driven research and an ability to identify and assess objective, specific, quantifiable measures of success
  • Experience with critical evaluation of scientific proposals and reports, including experimental design, interpretation of data and statistical analysis
  • Broad knowledge of molecular biology and genetics
  • Understanding of data ownership and data sharing issues
  • Experience in one or more key economic sectors important to British Columbia (i.e., health, forestry, fisheries, agriculture, environment, energy and mining)
  • Experience with the BC life sciences research community
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with frequent deadlines
  • Ability to work flexible hours on occasion
